Mayor's Message

The City of Miami is in the midst of an era of great change. Facing an economic recession that has not been seen since the 1920’s, we have been presented with a great opportunity, thanks to the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), to save jobs, and invest in keeping our community competitive.

This website is a tool to keep you, the public, informed about what we have done with the ARRA funds. You will find information regarding how much funding we have received where it has been allocated, and what projects are being implemented. I ask you to take your time exploring this site, and take the opportunity to learn what your tax payer dollars are doing to improve your livelihood and prepare Miami for the 21st century.
Funding

Of the total $787 billion in the package, there are two branches of funding:
  • $499 billion for spending on transportation, infrastructure, health care, housing and energy efficiency; and
  • $288 billion for tax breaks.
